As Christians, we are committed to caring for those who are in the greatest need - including the poor and hungry. Every year, Spirit of Joy members and friends volunteer in many ways, including by serving meals at St. Stephen's Shelter, packaging meals at Feed My Starving Children, or by conducting our own Single Mom's Oil Change every fall and spring.
How do you describe the feelings you have of joining with others to fix a package that contains enough food to feed 17 children one meal a day for a year, knowing that the meal contains sufficient nutrition to make that child healthy?
Words fail to capture the impact of the experience 42 members and friends of Spirit of Joy had tonight in preparing 6,264 meals at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan. Thanks to everyone who came to help, and for bringing your friends and neighbors.
